Community CentreThe new Buckden Millennium Community Centre and Sports Pavilion is a village focal point and provides much needed amenities for many of the groups and societies in Buckden. It was built at a cost of nearly £700,000 of which half came from donations made by local residents, companies and organisations, and half from the Millennium Commission. (It is understood that the project is one of the largest of its type to be funded by the commission.) The main hall is large enough to accommodate sizeable functions ranging from wedding receptions to antiques fairs, whilst a stage and workshop area at the far end of the hall allows the local theatre group to stage regular amateur dramatic productions. The hall also accommodates the local village club, children's playgroup and youth club as well as housing the new village library. The Sports Pavilion provides changing and showering facilities for the various local sports groups and is located adjacent to the Community Centre. The Buckden Millennium Community Centre and Sports Pavilion has a sizeable car park and is accessed via Burberry Road. The complex is well sign-posted from Buckden High Street. If you wish to enquire about hiring the hall, please ring 01480 811101.
