Vegetables

There must be few villages that can say that they have held a horticultural show each year for over 100 years! Our centenary was in 1993. The horticultural shows ended in 1939 due to the constraints of war with the Gardeners association, as we now know it, formed in 1942. It's purpose was to bulk buy seeds, fertilizers and lime to aid the 'Dig for Victory' war effort and the association has had a commercial side ever since.

The first show after the war was in 1947, and we have held a show each year ever since.
