Dave, Martin and Jeanette Since it was started in late 1999, the Buckden Village website has been mentioned both on local radio and in the national press: BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "...it's one of the best (websites) I've seen and I say that without any hesitation..." - Gerald Main, Senior Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire during a live radio broadcast from the Buckden Millennium Community Centre. The Sunday Times: 'Six reasons to join the online community'. Under the caption of 'Unite the Neighbours', the site was presented as an example of a 'well-designed' community website in The Sunday Times' Doors Internet supplement. (February 4, 2001) The Sunday Times: 'ISP and a country churchyard: the online village of Buckden'. This is the caption to a photograph of Buckden that appeared in an edition of The Sunday Times' Culture magazine. The accompanying article, entitled 'A local site for local people', described how the Internet is helping 'those who live in traditional communities to interact in new ways'. (July 9, 2000)
