A1 Road Improvements

Status report as provide by the Highways Agency on Monday 24th September:

"The lane closures at the Buckden village end of the scheme that have been in use recently to complete outstanding items of work, such as the anti-skid surface treatment to the roundabout approaches and installation of bulbs to the lighting columns, are nearing completion. The yellow bars to Lane 1 of the southbound approach to the roundabout should be laid today, Monday (weather permitting) together with the reinstallation of kerbs, signs etc to the hardened area immediately to the north of the roundabout.

The works from Brampton Hut to the A1(M) should be completed over the next two or three nights, again depending on the weather, it has just started raining again.

24Seven (EEB) will be on site next week to complete the connection of their supply to our new street lighting. It is hoped that the street lights will be operational by 10 October, at which time we will then disconnect the footpath lighting columns on Great North Road and take to the agreed location.

Lafarge will be constructing the pedestrian crossing at Hardwick Lane over the next few days."

If you require further information on the various lane closures, contraflows and diversions in place, please telephone 01480 812864.
