The W.I. in Buckden is alive and kicking. We meet at 7.30 in the School Hall on the first Tuesday in the month, unless it is a school holiday, in which case it is the second Tuesday. We don't spend all our time making jam and baking cakes, although some of us are very good at these things. Neither have we made a calendar yet!

The meetings begin with about half an hour of business, news, views and discussion, and details of outings and courses to sign up for. After this there is a speaker or demonstration, on a wide variety of subjects. The evening ends with coffee/tea and biscuits, a raffle, judging of the monthly competition, and chat.

There is plenty in which to become involved, such as drama, craft work, quizzes, golf days, bowling, walks, etc. Some of the events take place at our Headquarters in Huntingdon, but there are residential courses for all sorts of things at Denman College, the W.I.'s own College near Oxford.

The W.I. campaigns for a variety of concerns, a force to be reckoned with, and these are reviewed each year with all members taking part. Why not come and see for yourself. New members are always welcome.
