The Buckden Wine and Beermakers Society was formed in 1978 and is now a leading wine society in the Eastern Counties. We have a busy programme and social calendar and have good connections with many other wine and beermaking associations.
We regularly enter into competition with these other societies and have a good level of success against them. We have among our members two qualified wine judges who are only too pleased to pass on their knowledge on all aspects of Wine and Beermaking. Over the years we've been invited by ITV to assist Brian Turner in making a programme on winemaking; we've done a live Radio 4 programme on the subject and we were approached by Reader's Digest for our help in producing one of their books and had several of our recipes published by them. Most of our meetings are held at the Scout Hut in Lucks Lane on the 4th Thursday of the month, starting at 8 p.m. Why not come along and meet us and see why our society has been so successful over the years? Give us a ring for any other details, we'll be pleased to hear from you.
